As usual we woke up to lovely blue skies, sunshine and bird song on Saturday. Breakfast at 8am (a lie in compared to the usual 6am). We were driven to the Tsindi Ruins which are 40mins away. They are an old Shona site built at the top of some huge rock formations.
We climbed up to the top and got beautiful views.
We had lunch back at Gatehouse under the big tree - pizza, salad and potatoes. The afternoon was spent in the garden and after supper we joined the community for a fun evening.
On Sunday there was a lively church service and we knew some of the songs!
Hopefully you can see a photo in this blog. We're having trouble getting them to uplaod and we can only use the internet occasionally. It's lovely to get messages back from you, so please comment if you can. Are you still snowed in?
Hi Stephanie/Ruth,
ReplyDeleteYes, the photo came through very well. Glad you are enjoying your adventure but what about the work? If it goes on like this, with all the trips out and eating alfresco, you won't want to come back home! Then we would miss you.
Take care.
Tony
PS. No info re changes at 'you know where' until later in February now. ( As if you are worried!)
Dear Steph & Ruth
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to hear your news and to imagine you in such an amazing place. I loved to hear about the service and of songs that we share across the world. We were all thinking about you at Lea Road at our service with the Moderator and the meal afterwards, it as good and I think gave him a fair idea of what a special place it is.
I can't wait to hear about your adventures with the children
My love and prayers
Anne
Hi Ruth/Stephanie
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see the picture and to read your updates. Glad to read you're both well! A little bit envious about the lovely temperature there... All the snow has melted away now in Northampton, but they say there's more on the way:(
Ruth, I just got a phone call and was offered the job!!! So I thought I'ld accept;) and now I'm partying!!!!
Lots of love from this end and blessings,
Henriette
Hallo Stephanie and Ruth,
ReplyDeleteThe photo is excellent and the Tsindi ruins look fascinating - shall look forward to hearing more about them. How is your work going in the school with the children?
Love and prayers
Hi Steph and Ruth, I've just come back from the elders meeting and you are both in our prayers. Paul tried to see how things were going earlier, but you hadn't updated the site yet. He just saw the Canada geese. Reading of your adventure is so emotional. You are doing something really wonderful and I'm sure that you are really enriching the children's lives. Glad things are going well and that you are also seeing some amazing sites too. God be with you both XXX
